Journalism rooted in place and community.

I'm Roshan, a journalist and physician.

I have bylines at ABC News, The Miami Herald, NPR, and The New Tropic among others. I’m a Miami-born, Medill-trained reporter obsessed with South Florida.

I am interested in writing about health policy, the intersections of health and climate change, urbanism and city dynamics, and the desi diaspora.

I’ve also reported from newsrooms in South Africa, blogged about human rights from the Republic of Georgia, and helped produce a travel guide sponsored by the Curaçao tourism board.

About Me

I’m insatiably curious. It’s a force that powered me through a dizzying career as a multimedia reporter and then through the rigors of medical school.

Since leaving daily journalism I've been practicing as a primary care physician — which has sharpened how I report on systems, institutions, and the people inside them. I'm now returning to reporting, bringing both newsroom instincts and clinical expertise.
